Who can forget when Claire and Jamie tied the knot in episode 7 (The Wedding) of season 1? It was at this 17th century church in Milton Bridge, south of Edinburgh that Jamie married Claire, saving her from the hands of Black Jack Randall. It was here that their adventures truly began.
Built on the grounds of Glencorse House, Glencorse Old Kirk is a privately owned church, hired out for weddings. Located near the foothills of the Pentlands, it provides an idyllic backdrop for marriage ceremonies.
Visiting Glencorse Old Kirk
If you want to visit this Outlander location it will require a little organisation. Glencorse House is a private family residence, so you can’t just arrive and have a look around the kirk. Also, it lies behind a locked gate, from where you won’t be able to see it from the road outside. However, the owners are willing to offer pre-arranged private tours.
