Reaper is the name of the boat, used as the Cristabel at the end of Outlander 1.16, ‘To Ransom A Man’s Soul‘. Claire, Jamie and Murtagh row out to the boat before heading off to France.
The boat is a restored Fifie sailing herring drifter. For the most of the 19th century and early 20th century this was the most popular type of fishing boat on the east coat of Scotland.
Built in 1902, it is the flagship exhibit at the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther.
