Appearing in Outlander season 7, Duncarron Medieval Village was used as Fort Ticonderoga.
Located in the Carron Valley Forest in North Lanarkshire, Duncarron Medieval Village is operated by the Canranald Trust as an educational centre. It describes itself as an “open air museum” where you can “immerse yourself in a historic fortified stronghold experience.”
Claire and Jamie end up at Fort Ticonderoga after meeting Cornelius Harnett while on their way to catch a ship back to Scotland.
Harnett ‘persuades’ them to join the revolutionaries. This sets up Jamie to take part in the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga and the Siege of Fort Ticonderoga, both pivotal events in the revolution.
The medieval village may be familiar to some film fans. Ridley Scott used it in his version of Robin Hood. Also, it was used for scenes in the Robert the Bruce film, Outlaw King, about the eponymous king and the wars of independence in the early 14th century.
