Outlander filming continued this week, this time in Glasgow, specifically at St Andrew’s in the Square. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, as well as other Outlander cast and crew, have been seen arriving at the church at St Andrew’s Square in the city centre.

Glasgow has been used many time before. Sites like Glasgow Cathedral, Pollok Park and the City Chambers have been used to tell Claire and Jamie’s story. Having returned to iconic locations such as Falkland and Culross, it was now time for the Outlander storytellers to revisit Glasgow. As expected, fans of the show were out in force to see the stars. And the stars, as ever, were happy to oblige the crowds.

Currently Glasgow’s Centre for Scottish Culture, promoting the arts in the city, St Andrew’s in the Square is an 18th-century category-A-listed former church. Inspired by the London church, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the classical Georgian church is connected to Jacobite history, Bonnie Prince Charlie’s army having camped here in December 1745.
